Gravity defying acrobatics meets the legends of Chinese folklore in the jaw dropping performances of the Chinese State Circus, which rolls into Aberdeen this July. Inspired by the two-thousand year old Chinese tale of Mulan (no that wasn’t just a Disney), the show is laced with lavish stunts and visuals to relay the legend of the tough girl warrior who took her father’s place in battle disguised as a boy, fooling her commanders.  But it is the performers who are sure to take centre stage in this show, between leaping through hoops and balancing on thin air to recreating the ancient Chinese Lion Dance, this show will have you gripped. Not to be missed is astounding act of the Shaolin Wushu Warriors, in which the limits of human achievement are truly tested.  This is a chance to experience the work of some of the world’s premier artistic athletes – many weeks were spent in China auditioning acrobats, actors, Peking Opera artistes and Wushu performers for the show.
